Representatives from NPI grantees and USAID as well as experts in organizational development and institutional strengthening gathered at end-of-project meetings the week of January 9 in Kampala, Uganda and  in Johannesburg, South Africa the week of January 16, 2012.

The aim of the four-day meetings was to share lessons learned and highlight best practices that helped bolster grantees’ capacity to plan, implement and sustain more effective HIV/AIDS interventions.

Success Story

Transforming Men into Leaders in the Fight against HIV/AIDS
In rural Zambia, where gender roles and cultural norms create an environment ripe for the spread of HIV, NPI Partner Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) is changing mindsets and saving lives. Through its Men Taking Action program, CMMB has turned men like Phinias Matoto, a father of eight and husband of two, into leaders in the fight against HIV and AIDS.
