THETA
THETA, an indigenous organization in Uganda, works to improve the health of rural Ugandans by involving traditional health practitioners through training in health education, counseling, and in community support initiatives for vulnerable groups, such as women, orphans and persons living with HIV/AIDs. THETA is scaling up its existing efforts by building the capacity of informal community structures and linking them to the formal health and social system. These efforts will increase access to abstinence and faithfulness prevention programs, care for people living with HIV/AIDS, and care for orphans and vulnerable children. This organization is a PEPFAR subpartner that has graduated to prime partner.
